Rev. Joseph LaCava, Associate Pastor, has been serving at Independent Bible Church since 1994. Reared in Northeast Pennsylvania, Pastor LaCava received a degree in Music Education at Wilkes College, where he met his wife Leslie. Shortly after marriage, they both received Christ as Savior. They moved to New England to pursue secular work, but the Lord had other plans. Both Joe and Leslie responded to the call of full time Christian ministry when they began teaching in a Christian school in 1982. God continued to work in the heart of Pastor LaCava, and he received the call to full time pastoral ministry. He graduated from Pilgrim Baptist Bible Institute, Jaffrey, NH, in 1986, serving the Lord as teacher, administrator, and assistant pastor until 1994 before returning to Northeast PA. The LaCavas have three children. Matthew, who is married to Kate Snyder, is pursuing graduate study n Pastoral Theology at Bob Jones University. Jeanna is a junior at BJU studying Women's Ministries, and LeeAnn is in tenth grade and home schooled. Leslie is active in ministry as church pianist, teen girls Sunday school teacher, and faithful helper to her husband.

No Title - Good News

There are five things that God wants everyone to know:

1. You are a sinner.

Rom. 3:10 " As it is written there is none righteous no not one." Rom. 3:23 " For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

All of us have broken God's laws at one time or another and because of it we are all sinners.

2. There is a price for sin.

The price on sin is death. Death means separation from God.

Rom. 6:23 " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Do you realize that if you died right now and received the wages for your sin you would have to spend an eternity in hell separated from God, according to the Bible?

3. Jesus paid the price for your sin.

Rom. 5:8 " But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

God loves you so much He does not want you to go to hell. In fact, He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for your sins.

4. Heaven is a gift that God wants to give you.

Rom. 6:23b "... but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Do you realize that Heaven is a gift and not something you can work for, according to the Bible?

5. You must personally receive Jesus Christ.

Rom. 10:13 " For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Do you realize that if you called upon Jesus and asked for forgiveness and eternal life He would give it to you according to the Bible? If you realize these five things why don't you just bow your head right now sincerely ask Jesus to forgive you and save your soul.

You can pray a prayer like this. Dear Jesus, Please forgive me of all of my sins. Come into my heart and save me. I am now trusting you alone for eternal life. Amen.

If you just now received Jesus Christ as your Savior please e-mail us and let us know of your decision.

Our Beliefs - What We Believe

The Scriptures

The Bible is the Word of God. It is infallible, inerrant, inspired, and complete. Written by men who were moved by the Holy Spirit, it is the only sufficient rule of faith and practice.

The True God

There is but one true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Fall of Man

All men need to be saved. "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 Man cannot save himself. "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us. . ." Titus 3:5

Salvation

Salvation is through Christ. "This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus is come into the world to save sinners. . ." 1 Timothy 1:15 God invites men to be saved. "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Isa. 1:18 This salvation is by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ on Calvary's Cross. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." Ephesians 2:8 All who call on the Lord for salvation will be saved. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
